Graduate Student Geoscience Department Scholarship Application (pdf)
Undergraduate Students: April 15 for scholarship to be awarded the following academic year (Example: April 15, 2011 for the 2011-2012 academic year)
Graduate Students: November 6th for scholarship to be awarded the following spring
In 2008, the UNLV Geoscience Department distributed a total of $68,956 in student scholarships – $50,956 to 21 graduate students (average award was ~$2400), and $18,000 to 10 undergraduate students (average award was ~$1800). Most of these scholarship funds are from investment accounts, so the amount awarded each year depends, in part, on how well the investments perform, and on how many students apply. Undergraduate scholarships are given for an academic year; Graduate scholarships are intended for use in the summer, but are awarded during the Spring semester.
