The Geoscience Committee of Department Success
About:
On of the major goals of the Committee of Department Success (DS) within the UNLV Department of Geoscience is to foster an environment of instruction, research, and sociality that supports the development and success of tomorrow’s leaders, both in the geosciences and in the wider community.
We strive to better serve our community, provide supportive instruction, and foster innovation and discovery based on collaboration founded on the strength of the department.
Each member of our committee, including faculty, staff, graduate students, and undergraduate students, is responsible to promote and encourage practices that welcome everyone, provide supportive opportunities, and include our campus community.

The goal of the Committee of Department Success (DS) is to find actionable items that improve the experiences of individuals, collegiality, and cultural climate in the Department of Geoscience.

Land Acknowledgement
The Committee of Department Success within the Geoscience Department at UNLV wishes to acknowledge and honor the Indigenous communities of this region, and recognize that the university is situated on the traditional homelands of the Nuwu (noo·woo), Southern Paiute (pai·oot) People.
We offer gratitude for the land itself, for those who have stewarded it for generations, and for the opportunity to study, learn, work, and be in community with this land.
