The Department of Geoscience, located primarily in the Lily Fong Geoscience building in the heart of the UNLV campus, was one of the very first buildings on campus.
Since the 1970s, the Lily Fong Geoscience building has been the home of the Department of Geoscience, and from that moment has been where the geologists, planetary scientists, and hydrologists of UNLV have taught countless students the importance of earth scientists.
The Geoscience Department has 21 professors, and 41 graduate students who are paving the way for new research paths and future insights into the many disciplines that encompass the geosciences
