Past News

• Our chapter President, Bruce Hurley, was interviewed by Channel 13 on Thursday, August 16, 2007 about the earthquake in Lima, Peru! Always good exposure for our chapter and organization to make the news!!

• Former chapter President, Amy L. Brock, has successfully defended her dissertation and has moved on to a tenure-track faculty position at Western Illinois University in Macomb, IL. Let's all offer her our warmest congratulations on her accomplishments!!

• The Boulder City View had a very nice news article on 3/6/2007 about our chapter's spring field trip to the St. George dinosaur track sites!

The GSN Foundation supports scholarships for UNR, K-12 school field trips, and UNLV. Below is a list of past recipients for the GSN scholarship distributed at UNLV. Scholarship recipients are awarded through the UNLV Geoscience Department's scholarship program. Many of these students have been active in the Geological Society of Nevada!
