Symposium: Arid Soils: Records of Past Climates, Carbon Sequestration, Genesis, and Management

Convenors: Dr. Brenda J. Buck, University of Nevada Las Vegas, USA; and H. Curtis Monger, New Mexico State University, USA.

This symposium will feature research involving Arid and Semi-Arid Soils. Topics include: (1) using arid soils and buried soils as records of past climates and their use in archaeology, (2) the role of arid soils in the carbon cycle, (3) the genesis of arid soils including their morphological, mineralogical, biological, and chemical transformations, and (4) the management of modern soils in arid climates.
