PACROFI 2010
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA

We are excited to announce that the tenth Pan-American Current Research on Fluid Inclusions (PACROFI) conference will be held on the campus of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA from June 7th through June 10th, 2010. The meeting is the ideal venue for presenting fluid and melt inclusion research. We invite academic, industry, and government researchers who use fluid and/or melt inclusions to unravel the evolution of geologic systems. Please also note that the PACROFI conference is being held the week directly preceding the Goldschmidt Conference in Knoxville, TN, USA.

PRE-MEETING FIELD TRIP
June 3-6, 2010

This four day field trip will visit world class Carlin-type gold deposits of north-central Nevada. The tentative cost, including everything except breakfast and evening dinners, is $450 double occupancy, $575 single occupancy.

PRE-MEETING SHORT COURSES

June 6-7, 2010: Professor Bob Bodnar, Virginia Tech: Applications of Fluid and Melt Inclusions in Ore Deposits Research and Exploration (cost to be announced). This will be a one and a half day short course.

June 7, 2010:
Steve Becker, ExxonMobil, The Application of Fluid Inclusions to Petroleum Systems (cost to be announced).

POST-MEETING FIELD TRIP
June 11-12, 2010

This two day field trip will explore the physical and chemical links between the Wilson Ridge Pluton and River Mountains volcanic area in the Colorado River Extensional Corridor. This field trip will be run as two separate one-day trips from the UNLV campus. The tentative field trip cost, including transportation and lunches, is $250. Participants can extend their stay in the UNLV campus hotel for approximately $50 per night double occupancy.
